FIRST: Call Tammy Baldwin at (608) 264-5338 to OPPOSE H.R. 7147

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I am a constituent from [LOCATION].

I’m calling to urge Senator Tammy Baldwin to oppose bill H.R. 7147 (Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act).

This bill allocates billions of additional dollars to DHS, a department that has violated the dignity and rights of people across our nation. ICE and border patrol agents do not need more funding for additional infrastructure, equipment, and training. Funding thus far has enabled this agency to terrorize communities with impunity as they separate families, racially profile and assault immigrants and citizens, and disregard safety and democracy.

Tammy Baldwin needs to stand with me and stop ICE murders and stand up in the aftermath of the murder of Alex Pretti, a VA nurse, union member, and American citizen with Wisconsin ties.

I request that Tammy Baldwin join me in making sure this bill DOES NOT get passed and also does everything in their power to hold DHS accountable for their reckless and violent actions.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

THEN: Call Ron Johnson at (608) 240-9629 to OPPOSE H.R. 7147

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I am a constituent from [LOCATION].

I’m calling to urge Senator Ron Johnson to oppose bill H.R. 7147 (Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act).

This bill allocates billions of additional dollars to DHS, a department that has consistently misused funding, dodged federal investigations, and fails to use MY tax dollars efficiently and humanely. ICE and border patrol agents do not need more funding for additional infrastructure, equipment, and training. The federal government does NOT have the right to militarize and misuse pretend law enforcement agencies to threaten Americans' safety and security.

Ron Johnson needs to stand with me and stop ICE murders and stand up in the aftermath of the murder of Alex Pretti, a VA nurse, union member, and American citizen with Wisconsin ties.

I request that Ron Johnson join me in making sure this bill DOES NOT get passed and also does everything in their power to hold DHS accountable for their reckless, expensive, and violent actions.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Learn more: H.R. 7147: Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act

In 2025, DHS received an astronomical $170 billion in funding through the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” The 2026 H.R. 7147 bill, if passed in the senate, will add an additional $64.4 billion to DHS, including about $10 billion for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The bill does offer some additional provisions for body cams and training but we know these are not meaningful limitations. This bill “fails to rein in ICE and Border Patrol at a time when they are engaged in an unprecedented assault on our rights, safety, and democratic way of life. The billions in funding in this bill will only embolden ICE and CBP to continue arresting our neighbors – immigrant and U.S. citizen alike – no matter the costs to our communities, economy, and integrity of our Constitution.”
